Where can I find more information about a specific building in Helsinki?
Hi there, I am writing a short article about the history of a building in Sörnäinen, shown here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FDp-EHteaec/UcNRYvqhJ2I/AAAAAAAAFw4/Pd9EdCzpyV...'s-60's+(11).jpg I believe it was built by an insurance company (Kansa?) in the 60s and abandoned in the 90s but that's about the limit of my knowledge. Where can I go to find out more? Thanks! James
Hämeentie 33 was the main office of insurance company Kansa in 1962-1994. It has been built by Kansa in 1962 and abandoned by it in 1994. For more information, please contact Helsinki City Museum, e-mail www.kysymuseolta.fi/helsinginkaupunginmuseo/
Information about ´Kansa´ also in Google/Wikipedia, and, if You read finnish, in the book ´Kansan tarina´ (The story of Kansa) by historian Jorma Kallenautio, ISBN 951113471X.
