Is Veen emonen a description of Luonnotar, but also a different entity, spirit - one associated with a drowned person?

Merriam Webster encylopedia says she is similar to Ved-Ava but I would like to know in what respects the Finnish version is different or similar.

Thanks for your help!

Answer

She must be Vellamo, the queen of the sea and the wife of Ahti, the king of the sea. They were gods, subordinated to Ukko, the main god of the ancient finns.  They were spiritual entities, but they also could have earthy power.

Ved-Ava may be a figure in the mythology of India? The ancient finns, however, did not have any connection there. Different cultures have different gods for e. g. the sea, the forests, the hunting, the agriculture a.s.o.
