I have read that Finns make coffee on the stove --without boiling the water and wait for the grounds to settle before pouring. Is this right? Could you tell me how to do this exactly? And also, do they keep it hot in a thermos or on the stove or what?
Well, there must be as many ways to make coffee as there are coffeemakers. Here is one recipe for you.
My grandmother used to make coffee in a thermos so that the grounds were put in the bottom and then boiling water was poured in the thermos. The coffee was left to settle for about an hour or more before it was served.
My mother still uses this method sometimes and the coffee is perfect.
Add one extra "spoon" of grounds depending the amont of cups. For example 6 "spoons" for 5 cups of coffee.
