Hello! My friend lives in St.Petersburg, Russia.
Hello! My friend lives in St.Petersburg, Russia. She is diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and needs two medications, Bonefos and Femara. Unfortunately, jer oncologist tells her that medications in Russia are often the crude counterfeit. She can come to Helsinki and pay for the pillst, but she doesn't speak English. Do you have a list of pharmacies with the Russian speaking staff? Is it possible to use Russian doctors' issued prescriptions for medication in Finland? If not, is it possible to see a Finnish doctor in a pharmacy and obtain the prescriptions?
Thank you for your help,
Irene G. Guy
We forwarded your question to Yliopiston Apteekki (University Pharmacy).
In Yliopiston Apteekki pharmacy in the Helsinki city center (address Mannerheimintie 5) they have russian speaking staff. They are usually available in the daytime.
Foreign prescriptions are case-spesific so it depends on the situation. You could ask that directly from the pharmacy. In Finland you can´t visit the doctor in the pharmacy. Instead you need to contact the healthcare.
