Does the YKI exam certificate what we take for taking Finnish citizenship by foreigners will expire?

Hi, I need some information. I have passed YKI examination for taking finnish citizenship which is mentioned in the website http://www.migri.fi/finnish_citizenship/applying_for_citizenship/require... Now the question is since i haven't decided yet whether to proceed ahead in taking finnish citizenship i would like to know if there is any validity period for the certificate i.e, is the certificate valid for lifelong or will it lose its validity after 2-3 years. Can you please provide me the needed info and the contact persons whom to ask about this. Thanks, Regards, A Foreigner

Answer

Dear Foreigner,

the YKI examination certificate is most often valid for lifelong. There isn´t any expiration time for the YKI certificate, but in case you have had a very long residence abroad after taking the examination and your language skills won´t equate anymore to the level of the certificate you have the Immigration Services may request a new certificate. For further information you can contact either the Finnish Immigration Services or the National Board of Education. I wish this aswer is helpful to you.  I apologize for the delay in response.
