Lpg cylinders with their valves still intact are categorized as hazardous waste and should be disposed in a waste collection center such as the HSL Sortti-stations. Since the Lpg-canister in question is considered as household waste, a store selling them isn't required to collect or dispose the canisters.
For a household with no car, you can use public transports. The two Sortti-stations in Helsinki are in Kivikonlaita 5, 00940 HELSINKI and Betonitie 3, 00390 HELSINKI. The appropriate buses...6.8.2011 22:32

Dear Foreigner,
the YKI examination certificate is most often valid for lifelong. There isn´t any expiration time for the YKI certificate, but in case you have had a very long residence abroad after taking the examination and your language skills won´t equate anymore to the level of the certificate you have the Immigration Services may request a new certificate. For further information you can contact either the Finnish Immigration Services or the National Board of...26.9.2013 14:16Helsingin kaupunginkirjasto

Hi,
There's no final decisions made yet of the type of the nuclear reactors. I browsed through the applications and endorsements by the Government where the following information can be found.
First, the application by Fennovoima Oy. There's three proposed options to the type of the reactor:
a) European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR), by Areva,
b) KERENA (a type of boiling water reactor), also by Areva,
c) Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR), by Toshiba-Westinghouse.
There's several...9.5.2010 22:07

Finnish tax system is quite complex to anyone without a degree in the matter. Income tax applies in addition to municipal and state taxes payments such as unemployment insurance, church tax and employment pension contribution. In principle, one´s income tax could be calculated simply by adding these taxes together and taking into account that state tax is progressive. But for a couple of reasons this is not how to get the right answer.
First of all, the municipal tax is not the same for all...27.10.2009 15:37

We apologize for the belated answer.
The Library of Parliament has quite extensive collection of books and articles also in english. You can search their database with search word "julkishallinto". To get particular references about collaboration between citizens and public administration search "kansalaistoiminta".
http://lib.eduskunta.fi/Resource.phx/library/index.htx?lng=en
You can also search the Helsinki University Library with the same search words.

First of all, sorry for the latecoming answer. Your question was quite difficult to answer and in the end only some information was found.
As in all EU countries, customs are regulated in Finland mainly through EU common customs tariff and of course, by law. For reasons that remained unsolved the finnish custom officer defines the custom value as transaction-value. This method is quite common also in other european countries.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation, but I’m afraid there is not much you can do. On the site of the Directorate of Immigration they estimate that the processing time of an application of the residence permit is about 4,4 months when the applicant is a family member.
“The waiting times for decisions are generally longer because the processing times at other authorities, such as the Finnish missions or the police, who receive the applications, are included in the total processing time.”...20.8.2007 12:13

In the same way as in the UK you can rent a space at a market-place at the offices of the local government. In Helsinki this is taken care by the Real Estate Department of the City of Helsinki. I recommend you contact the authorities via e-mail: tila@hel.fi
They can tell you both the availability of the spaces and the current prices. As an EU-citizen you can work in Finland without a resident permit for three months.
