The best time to make vihta is about from mid-June to mid-July.
We have two types of big birches in Finland; rauduskoivu (silver birch) and hieskoivu (downy birch). Rauduskoivu comes into leaf earlier and the leaves are stronger. On the other hand leaves of hieskoivu has this nice stronger aroma. You can use rauduskoivu and ad few twigs of hieskoivu into the middle of the whisk.
You´ll identify rauduskoivu by its triangular and saw-edged leaves. Hieskoivu´s leaf is more...15.10.2014 14:39Helsingin kaupunginkirjasto

There are two ways of disposing of the flag. Either you can burn it (in a respectful ceremony), or you can cut it into small pieces and mix it in your daily wastes, in a longer period of time. In that case the point is that the pieces can not be identified as parts of the flag. It is not suitable to recycle the material.
I believe the same rules abide to all national flags. Burning the flag as is often seen on news reels is a grave provocation, as it is meant to be.

A recently published survey called ”Suomalaiset 2011” implies that happiness does not depend on th level of education: http://redera.fi/kotisivu/2011/04/uudet-sivut-uudet-tuulet/ .Unfortunately I was not able to find any information about this in English.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any Irish myth that has to do with virgins. But according to tradition a female creature called Banshee wails in the night when someone from the old Irish families is going to die.

African poverty is a complicated matter. The roots of African current poverty are partly in its history. The most significant causes for weak African economy have been unstable transition from colonialism, the cold war, increase of political corruption, despotism and protectionism. The economic development of the continent has remained stagnant in comparison to China, India or South-America. Measured by foreign trade, number of investments or GDP, Africa's economy has actually declined. Poverty...7.7.2008 23:17Helsingin kaupunginkirjasto

Hi,
try this site:
http://www.islamopas.com/eng/index.html
First click ‘Mosques’ and then you get a list of the mosques in different cities. As far as I understand, most of them form also a Muslim community that also might have social events and get togethers. In a column ‘Language’ you can see the languages that are used, ‘Englantia’ means that English is spoken in that mosque. You can contact most mosques by e-mail.
Good look for your search!12.4.2008 01:16Helsingin kaupunginkirjasto

The book is dealing with subjects like children and young people, information society, media culture, spare...30.10.2007 02:34Helsingin kaupunginkirjasto
