With the antenna, Näsinneula is 167.9 m high. It is the tallest observation tower in the Nordic countries, although some sources site Stockholm's Kaknäs tower taller. Of course most of the tall towers in Europe, or worldwide, are build as tv or radio towers (with possible observation decks).

Main guard (Päävartio) for finnish defence forces.
It's ok to take photos or at least many tourists do. The change of guard is quite boring and not as flashy as for example the british counterpart. On coldest wintertime the watch person is inside looking out from the window.19.4.2006 15:33

Helsinki Central railway station is a wellknown landmark in Helsinki and the focal point of public transport in the Helsinki Metropolitan area.
A contest was organised in 1904 to produce plans for a new station. The contest was won by Eliel Saarinen, and the new station was finished in 1919.
The station is mostly built out of Finnish granite, and its distinguishing features are its clock tower and the two statues holding the lamps by the main entrance.
